Please be aware of this book!

Please be aware of this book!
GOD, PLEASE HELP US!
We need your help desperately,
in JESUS MOST POWERFUL NAME. Amen!

BEWARE!!

If you have children or grandchildren, work with children at church, or you have neighborhood children whose parents you know, please take note of the information below and pass it along to others. Schools are distributing this book to children through the Scholastic Book Club.

The name of the book is Conversations with God.. James Dobson talked about this book twice this s week. It is devastating. Parents, churches and Christian schools need to be aware of it. Please pass this information on to church/e-mail addresses, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends.

Please pay special attention not only to what your kids watch on TV, in movie theaters, on the internet, and the music they listen to, but also be alert regarding the books they read.

Two particular books are, Conversations with God and Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neale D. Walsch. They sound harmless enough by their titles alone. The books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and they make truth of the statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover or title."

The author purports to answer various questions asked by kids using the "voice of God". However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question "Why am I a lesbian?" His answer is that she was 'born that way' because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate " her differences.

Another girls poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?"

His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong."

Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin. His reply "I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "'judge not lest ye be judged."

Not only are these books the false doctrine of the devil, but in some instances quote (in error) the Word of God.

And the list goes on. These books (and others like it) are being sold to schoolchildren through (The Scholastic Book Club), and we need to be aware of what is being fed to our children.

Our children are under attack. So I pray that you be sober and vigilant about teaching your children the Word of God, and guarding their exposure to worldly mediums, because our adversary, the devil, roams about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We know that lions usually hunt for the slowest, weakest and YOUNGEST of its prey.

Pass this on to every Believer you know. God bless! And, if you are in doubt, check out the books yourself.

CRISIS

I have but one candle of life
to burn and would rather burn
it out where people are dying
in darkness than in a land which
is flooded with lights." D. Washer

Crisis

A crisis is a door, not a dam.
It is crisis that separates the decisive and the defeated.
Those who are decisive would even expand their businesses
for example during such dire times. That sets them apart from the rest.
When the dust settles, they are already ahead of the competition.
Those who are left behind missed out on an opportunity.
Isaiah faced such a crisis. King Uzziah died.
Even if he died a leper, Uzziah was still at that time a powerful king.
There seems to be a power vacuum. But though the earthly throne was empty,
the heavenly throne was not. “In the year that King Uzziah died
I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up;
and the train of his robe filled the temple.
(Isaiah 6:1, ESV) God was (and still is and will always be) in control.
The crisis became an opportunity for Isaiah to witness God’s sovereignty.

Usually when we hear the word “crisis” we think
of a time of intense dread or danger. But the Greek word for
“crisis” denotes “decision.” It was, according to a dictionary,
the crucial point in the play or story that determines the outcome of its plot.
Thus a crisis is also the turning point when a critical decision must be made for
an important change to occur. So, when there’s a crisis, either we face it or we flee it.
We flee it and we miss out. We face it and we make the most of the opportunity.
It’s up to us to decide. Ephesians 5:15-16 commands us,
“Therefore be very careful how you live—not as unwise but as wise,
taking advantage of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
” (NET Bible) We make the most or take advantage of the crisis precisely because the days are evil.
We don’t wait for convenient times. We act decisively.
Financial analysts predict that there will be harder times ahead of us next year.
People are more open to the Gospel during times of trouble or transition. Let us seize this moment!
Thus, even the present global financial crisis is an opportunity, not an obstacle.
Let us share the Good News so that they would trust our God who is in control of our circumstances.
People are exasperated. Let us encourage them. Our Lord assures us, “I have told you these things
so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage—
I have conquered the world.” (John 16:33)

Brethren, Jesus conquered the crisis already!

Gov't Commited to Deliver Php1.4T Budget

DBM Press Release, Wednesday, October 8, 2008

At the same time, DBM also asked Congress and the public to help ensure that each government department will deliver the performance targets submitted with its budget.

“Each agency will be held liable in accomplishing the outputs and outcomes they submitted.” Budget Secretary Rolando G. Andaya, Jr. said.

In making the statement, DBM called attention to its performance-based budgeting approach which was used in crafting the proposed national budget.

“We have given Congress and the people with the means to gauge the performance of government agencies as against their budgets,” Secretary Andaya added.

Recently, DBM has provided Congress with a book on performance-based budgeting containing the commitments of agencies to deliver results, also known as outputs and outcomes. The book entitled, FY 2009 Organizational Performance Indicator Framework (OPIF), translates the P1.4 trillion budget into performance indicators and targets which can be measured and verified.

“With this budgeting approach, we are tying the budget of government with performance.” said Andaya.

Meanwhile, DBM Assistant Secretary Verbo Bonilla disclosed that there are other reforms, aside from OPIF or performance-based budgeting, that are being undertaken by DBM.

Recently, DBM also published and provided Congress with the 2008 Budget in Brief, which contains information on how to easily understand the 2008 Budget. The Budget in Brief effectively summarized the 1,223 pages of the General Appropriations Act into 16 pages, providing the public with concise information on the budget in non-technical terms. The Department is likewise in the process of making budget information available through the internet, as well as ensuring the integrity of the procurement process.

“Our many initiatives aim to make the budget and the budget process more sound, transparent and accessible to stakeholders,” Bonilla said.

DBM RELEASES Php11.6B YEAREND BENEFITS

DBM Press Release, Wednesday, November 5, 2008

The coming Christmas season need not be glum, especially for government workers and their families.

Providing good cheer, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released some P11.6 billion representing one-half of the year-end bonus and cash gift for the more than one million workers employed in government.

Budget and Management Secretary Rolando Andaya, Jr. said that the release of the year-end bonus (YEB) and cash gift will ensure that public workers will have something to tide them over the holidays.

“We have already released funds for the year-end benefits, knowing that these will help cheer up our government employees, especially at this time of the year spent in celebration with the family,” Secretary Andaya said.

The YEB is equivalent to one month basic salary while the additional cash gift is P5,000. Government employees, however, already receive one-half of YEB in the middle of the year. As per Budget Circular No. 2005-6 dated 28 October 2005, the rest of the year-end bonus should be paid not earlier than November 15 but not later than November 30 of each year.

The year-end bonus is also higher this time around, taking into account the consecutive 10 percent salary increases of government personnel the past two years.

Entitled to the payment of year-end bonus and cash gift are officials and employees of all national government agencies (NGAs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), government financial institutions (GFIs), and local government units regardless of the nature of their appointment, whether permanent, temporary or emergency in nature. Included in the grant of these benefits are contractual employees who perform the functions of a regular employee.

Andaya clarified that local government units, government financial institutions and government owned or controlled corporations are also authorized to source these benefits from their respective local or corporate funds.

“With this budget release, we are making sure that government employees will receive their year-end benefits on time and without delay,” Secretary Andaya added.

king of Egypt

By Marnie Hunter
CNN

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- "Now, come, travel back in time. See where and how these rulers lived," Harrison Ford's deep voice beckons just before double doors swing open into a labyrinth of galleries displaying more than 130 ancient Egyptian artifacts.

The recorded introduction a la "Indiana Jones" welcomes visitors to a new exhibit featuring treasures from boy king Tutankhamun's tomb and artifacts tied to rulers spanning 2,000 years of Egyptian history.

"Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs," presented by Emory University's Michael C. Carlos Museum, premieres in the United States on November 15 at the Atlanta Civic Center.

An array of objects associated with rulers dating from Egypt's Fourth Dynasty into the Late Period (about 2600 B.C. to 660 B.C.) makes this the largest and most encyclopedic exhibit featuring Egyptian pharaohs presented in the U.S., according to exhibition curator David Silverman, who has worked on other exhibits focusing on Tutankhamun.

"A lot of people, when they hear 'Tut,' they think of gold, they think of the mummy, and they think of the discovery -- all of which is important. But when you think of more than 300 pharaohs, 31 dynasties, [Tutankhamun's] is only one of them," Silverman said.

Carefully focused pools of light illuminate stone pharaohs, gold and carnelian jewels and objects intended for the afterlife in darkened galleries looking at themes including the family life, religion, court and gold of the rulers.

A golden mask found on the mummy of Psusennes I presides over the gold gallery. Considered by ancient Egyptians to be the skin of the gods, gold was highly prized and used extensively in royal burial to assure pharaohs' divinity in the afterlife. A gold collar found on the body of Neferuptah, daughter of Amenemhat III, showcases an intricate arc of carnelian and feldspar that terminates with golden falcon heads.

LOVE not HATE

goods morning........

Anger is a condition in which The tongue works faster than the mind .
You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present By worrying over the future

Love...and you shall be loved. God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him. All people smile in the same language.
Everyone needs to be loved... especially when they do not deserve it. The real measure of a man's wealth is what he has invested in eternity.
Laughter is God's sunshine. Everyone has beauty but not everyone sees it. It's important for parents to live the same things they teach.
Thank God for what you have, TRUST GOD for what you need. If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow, you have no today to be thankful for. Man looks at outward appearance but the Lord looks within.

The choice you make today will usually affect tomorrow. Take time to laugh, for it is the music of the soul.
Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears. Love is strengthened by working through conflicts together. .
Harsh words break no bones but they do break hearts. To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it. We take for granted the things that we should be giving thanks for.
Love is the only thing that can be divided without being diminished.
Happiness is enhanced by others but does not depend upon others.
For every minute you are angry with someone, you lose 60 seconds of happiness that you can never get back. Do what you can, for who you can, with what you have, and where you are.

God Bless.........

The World is Mine

The World is Mine

Today, upon a bus, I saw a very handsome man
And wished I were as handsome
When suddenly he rose to leave,I saw him hobble down the aisle.
He had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as he passed, he gave a smile.

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.I have two legs; the world is mine.~
~~~~~~I stopped to buy some candy.The lad who sold it had such charm.I talked with him, he seemed so glad.If I were late, it'd do no harm.And as I left, he said to me,"I thank you, you've been so kind.It's nice to talk with folks like you.You see," he said, "I'm blind."Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.I have two eyes; the world is mine.
~~~~~~~~~~~Later while walking down the street,I saw a child I knew.He stood and watched the others play,but he did not know what to do.I stopped a moment and then I said,"Why don't you join them dear?"He looked ahead without a word.I forgot, he couldn't hear.Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.I have two ears; the world is mine.

~~~~~~~~~With feet to take me where I'd go.With eyes to see the sunset's glow.With ears to hear what I'd know.Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
~~~~~~~~~If this poem makes you feel thankful, justforward it to your friends.After all, it's just a simple reminder that wehave so much to be THANKFUL FOR!

"Everything that is faced can be changed, and nothing can be changed until it is faced" have a great day! ...... and smile

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS...

LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORM TO PASS . . .
IT IS ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS ...

An Angel says, 'Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.'

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule,

or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time;
don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God

would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation,
forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden,
extra stamps, etc.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount

of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19 Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud.

Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope

is often a good 'Thank you Jesus ..'

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33 Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been

grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.
'If God is for us, who can be against us?'
(Romans 8:31)

My instructions were to send this to
four people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you.
I decided to send it to more than four, because I didn't want to limit blessings.
SEND IT FORWARD PLEASE,
not backward!

ALWAYS TELL TO YOUR MOTHER "I LOVE YOU"

My mom only had one eye. I hated her....
She was such an embarrassment. . .
She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school
where my mom came toSay hello to me.

I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me?
I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.

The next day at school one of my classmates said,
"EEEE, your mom only Has one eye!"

I wanted to bury myself.
I also wanted my mom to just disappear..
I confronted her that day and said,
" If you're only gonna make me aLaughing stock, why don't you just die?"

My mom did not respond....
I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said,
because I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house,
and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard,
got a chance to go abroad to study.
Then, I got married.I bought a house of my own.
I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts,
Then one day, my Mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her
Grandchildren.

When she stood by the door,
my children laughed at her,
and I yelled at Her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my house and scare my Children!
"GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!"

And to this, my mother quietly answered, "Oh, I'm so sorry.
I may have Gotten the wrong address,
"And she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.

So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip..
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

My neighbors said that she died.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

"My dearest son,
I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to your house and Scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were
Growing up.

You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and
Lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you
Having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my
Place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,
Your mother.

Send this to at least 10 people in the next 5 minutes to show you love your mother. If you don't then it shows you have no heart

Always tell someone that you love them because you never know what dayWill be their last, or your own.

Always seek to resolve your problems or disagreements with loved onesBecause if either of you should pass on before, the one who is left alive will have the rest of their life to ponder those unresolved feelings but will never find closure. And closure usually brings

Peace...

"I asked God, 'How do I get the best out of life?'God said, 'Face your past without regrets. Handle your present withconfidence. And prepare for the future without fear!'"

THE SNEEZE

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing .. and the traditional caps, they looked almost ... as grown up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the commencements- ---not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational an d challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine... until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every single one of them,
suddenly SNEEZED!!!!

The studen t on stage.. simply looked at the audience and said, 'GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!' And he walked off stage...

The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.

Isn't this a wonderful story? Pass it on to all your friends... and
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

This is a true story; it happened at the University of Maryland .

Try not to screw up next time. Now answer the second question, but don't take as much time as you took for the first question, OK ?

Second Question:
I f you overtake the last person, then you are...? (scroll down)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Answer:
If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST Person? You're not very good at this, are you?
Third Question:
Very tricky arithmetic! Note: This must be done in your head only . Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it. Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 . Now add 30 ... Add another 1000 . Now add 20 . Now add another 1000 Now add 10 .. What is the total? Scroll down for answer.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you get 5000 ? The correct answer is actually 4100. If you don't believe it, check it with a calculator! Today is definitely not your day, is it? Maybe you'll get the last question right.... ....Maybe.

Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a pair of sunglasses; how d oe s HE indicate what he wants?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He just has to open his mouth and ask... It's really very simple.... Like you! PASS THIS ON TO FRUSTRATE THE SMART PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE!
iNTERESTING CONVERSATION
An Atheist Professor of Philosophy speaks to his Class on the Problem Science has with GOD, The ALMIGHTY. He asks one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .
Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So you Believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD Good ?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him. Most of us would attempt to Help Others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD Good then ? Hmm ?
( Student is silent )
Professor : You can't answer, can you ?
Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from ?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ?And GOD did make Everything. Correct ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil ?
( Student does not answer )
Professor : Is there Sickness ? Immorality ? Hatred ? Ugliness ? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they ?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who Created them ?
( Student has no answer )
Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen GOD ?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD ?
Student : No , sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD ?Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter ?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still Believe in HIM ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son ?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes. Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat ?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold ?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No sir. There isn't.
( The Lecture Theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events )
Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.
( There is Pin - Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )
Student : What about Darkness, Professor ? Is there such a thing as Darkness ?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness ?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light , Bright Light, Flashing Light . . . But if you have No Light Constantly, you have Nothing and it's called Darkness, isn't it ? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you ?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is Flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how ?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life : just the Absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you Teach your Students that they Evolved from a Monkey ?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do. Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir ?
( The Professor shakes his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument is going )
Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and cannot even prove that this Process is an On - Going Endeavor, are you not Teaching your Opinion, sir ? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher ?
( The Class is in Uproar )
Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever Seen the Professor's Brain ?
( The Class breaks out into Laughter )
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever Heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, Touched or Smelt it ? . . . No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir ?
( The Room is Silent. The Professor stares at the Student, his face unfathomable )
Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . the Link between Man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that Keeps Things Moving & Alive.
NB: I believe you have enjoyed the Conversation . . . and if so . . . you'll probably want your Friends / Colleagues to enjoy the same . . . won't you ? . . . Forward them to Increase their Knowledge . . . or FAITH
14. And two butcher shops called Meating Place and Meatropolis. Smart travelers can decipher what may look like baffling signs to unaccustomed foreigners by simply sounding out the 'Taglish' (The Philippine version of English words spelled and pronounced with a heavy Filipino such as:
15. At a restaurant menu in Cebu ? We hab sopdrink in can an in batol? [translation: We have soft drinks in can and in bottle].
16. Then, there is a sewing accessories shop called Bids And Pises - [translation: Beads and Pieces --or-- Bits and Pieces] There are also many signs with either badly chosen or misspelled words but they are usually so entertaining that it would be a mistake to 'correct' them like....... 17. In a restaurant in Baguio City , the 'summer capital' of the Philippines : ? Wanted: Boy Waitress?
21. A shoe store in Pangasinan which has a sign saying: ? We Sell Imported Robber Shoes? (these could be the 'sneakiest' sneakers);
22. A rental property sign in Jaro reads: ?House For Rent, Fully Furnaced? (it must really be hot inside)!
24. European tourists may also be intrigued to discover two competing shops selling hopia (a Chinese pastry) called Holland Hopia and Poland Hopia - which are owned and operated by two local Chinese entrepreneurs, Mr. Ho and Mr. Po respectively - (believe it or not)!
25. Some folks also 'creatively' redesign English to be more efficient.?The creative confusion between language and culture leads to more than just simple unintentional errors in syntax, but in the adoption of new words, ?says reader Robert Goodfellow who came across a sign ..... House Fersallarend' (house for sale or rent). Why use five words when two will do?
26. According to Manila businessman, Tonyboy Ongsiako, there is so much wit in the Philippines because?We are a country where a good sense of humor is needed to survive?. We have a 24-hour comedy show here called the government and a huge reserve of comedians made up mostly of politicians and bad actors.
Now I ask you where else in the world would one want to live?
Lessons Of Love
By: Roy Nwaisser
A ninety-one year old woman died after living a long dignified life. When she met God she asked him something that had long bothered her. If Man was created in God's image, and if all men are created equal, why do people treat each other so badly?
God replied that each person who enters our life has a unique lesson to teach us. And it is only through these lessons that we learn about life, people, relationships and God. This confused the woman, so God began to explain.
When someone lies to you it teaches you that things are not always as they seem. The truth is often far beneath the surface. Look beyond the masks people wear if you want to know their heart. And remove your own masks to let people know yours.
When someone steals from you it teaches you that nothing is forever. Always appreciate what you have, for you never know when you might lose it. And never, ever take your friends and family for granted because today is the only guarantee you have.
When someone inflicts an injury upon you it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one. Protect and take care of your body as best you can, it's the only thing you are sure to have forever.
When someone mocks you it teaches you that no two people are alike. When you encounter people who are different from you, don't judge them by how they look or act; instead base your opinion on the contents of their heart.
When someone breaks your heart it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean that person will love you back. But don't turn your back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that one person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together. Times ten.
When someone holds a grudge against you it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes. When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can do is forgive the offender without pretense. Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult and courageous thing Man can do.
When a loved one is unfaithful to you it teaches you that resisting temptation is Man's greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance against all temptation. By doing so you will be rewarded with an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.
When someone cheats you, it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil. Aspire to make your dreams come true, no matter how lofty they may be. Do not feel guilty about your success, but never let an obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage in malevolent activities.
When someone ridicules you it teaches you that nobody is perfect. Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have no control.
Upon hearing the Lord's wisdom, the old woman became concerned that there were no lessons to be learned from Man's good deeds.
God replied that Man's capacity to love is the greatest gift he has. At the root of all kindness is love, and each act of love also teaches us a lesson. The woman's curiosity deepening, God once again began to explain.
When someone loves us it teaches us that love, kindness, charity, honesty, humility, forgiveness and acceptance can counteract all the evil in the world. For every good deed, there is one less evil deed. Man alone has the power to control the balance between good and evil, but because the lessons of love are not taught often enough, the power is too often abused.
When you enter someone's life, whether by plan, chance or coincidence, consider what your lesson will be. Will you teach love or a harsh lesson of reality? When you die will your life have resulted in more loving or hurting? More comfort or pain? More joy or sadness? Each one of us has power over the balance of love in the world. Use it wisely.
Don't miss an opportunity to nudge the world's scale in the right direction.
FAMILY
I ran into a stranger as
he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this
stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different
story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the
evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly
knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little
heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a
stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you
seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he
brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to
spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.
" By this time, I felt very
small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by
his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you
picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're
pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.
" I said, "Son, I'm very sorry
for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.
" FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow,
the company that we are working for could
easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we
pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think? So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the
word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU
